Buyer safety

Slow down before you order

Shopping from a list can feel fast. That is exactly why the final check matters. You are not trying to remove every risk. You are trying to catch obvious problems before money is tied up in an order.

Let photos prove the item is worth checking

Photos are usually the fastest way to spot a weak listing. Look for consistent lighting, matching colors, clear detail shots, and enough angles to understand the product. If the photos look like different items mixed together, compare another listing.

  • For clothing, check print placement, seams, tags, fabric texture, and measurement photos.
  • For shoes, check shape, side profile, heel structure, sole color, and logo placement.
  • For bags, check zippers, hardware, stitching, pockets, strap length, and inside photos.

Size notes are not optional

The easiest way to turn a good-looking find into a bad order is to ignore sizing. Product names can be vague, and different sellers may use different measurements for the same type of item. Compare the size chart against something you already own before saving the link.

If a listing has no measurements, no clear size options, or conflicting notes, treat it as incomplete until you find better information.

Think about shipping before you get attached

Some products look cheap until weight, packaging, shipping line restrictions, or fragile handling are included. Bulky shoes, heavy jackets, large bags, fragile accessories, liquids, batteries, and branded-looking packaging can all change the real cost.

Shipping risk examples
Item typeQuestion to ask
Shoes with boxesDo you need the box, or will it increase volume and shipping cost?
Heavy clothingDoes the weight make the total cost worse than a better local option?
Fragile goodsWill extra packaging be needed, and is damage risk acceptable?
Restricted itemsDoes your shipping line accept batteries, liquids, magnets, or electronics?

Be extra careful with electronics

Electronics need more review than clothing. Battery rules, plugs, voltage, accessories, compatibility, and shipping restrictions can change the cost or make an item hard to ship. If you browse electronics, check the small details before ordering.

Do not assume a product includes every accessory shown in photos. Look for the exact model, included parts, charging type, and whether the listing mentions battery capacity or shipping limitations.

Let warehouse photos stop you

If warehouse photos show a different color, poor shape, obvious damage, missing details, or measurements that do not work for you, do not talk yourself into it because the price was good. Those photos are there to help you stop early.

  • Stop if the item does not match the listing title or option you selected.
  • Stop if key measurements are missing and sizing is important.
  • Stop if the total cost no longer makes sense after shipping.
  • Stop if you are only keeping the item because you already spent time searching.
